Art Commissions

Commissions are a joy to create. I love working with clients to turn their creative ideas into a reality. Maybe you want that perfect piece to go over your mantle, or you would like that old photo turned into a larger drawing or painting, or you have an image from a favorite trip that you want tourists painted out of, their are so many possibilities! Here is how you go about asking for a commission:

Step 1: Contact Janna Phillips Art

Interested in commissioning a piece? Email JannaPhillipsArt@gmail.com with the general description of your concept and your general timeframe for completion. I will email you back and let you know if that is something I can do or if I know another artist that might fit the style you are wanting. Commissions must be agreed upon at a minimum of 2 months before the date needed.

Step 2: Price

Once I have discussed and agreed upon the concept for the commission I will send a pricing sheet. This sheet gives you a range of sizes and prices. This way you can find a size that fits your budget. 50% of the price will be asked for upfront and 50% will be asked for upon completion of the piece.

Step 3: Commission Agreement

Once the concept, medium of art, size, price, and timeframe are agreed upon, I will send a commission agreement outlining all of the details we discussed.

Step 4: Creating

I start by creating sketches of the concept. I will send you sketches for final approval before beginning the final product. This way we know we are on the same page and there are no surprises as to how it will turn out. Communication is key!

Step 5: Delivery

I will personally deliver commissions within a 30 minute drive of Downtown Birmingham at no cost! Anything further we can agree upon a meeting location or you can pay for shipping. I do offer installation at an additional fee.

Thank you for considering Janna Phillips Art for your commission!
